New Racing Pages Launched!

As you may have noticed, our Racing Pages have been given the Gok Wan treatment and we’re delighted to unveil them to you. One of the key developments is Racing Post integration which will greatly improve your overall Paddy Power experience. For a full rundown on the new features, view this blog. Coupled with a slick design and improved navigation, we think they’re pretty nifty. However, the only opinion that matters is yours. Let us know what you think of our new, improved racing pages, negative and positive in the comments section below.

Not a great start Paddy, all this hype about your new Horse racing pages and it does not work? All links working to commentary, tv, post predicter but race cards not loading so how do you get a bet on??? Neither of us will get rich aty this rate.

    • c Ramsden February 21, 2011 at 3:28 pm #

the links dont work , and the race cards dont appear , so How are you suppose to place a bet ? it was better before

    • Andy Grigor February 22, 2011 at 8:41 am #

Fantastic, NOT. 24 hours later and still the same, race cards not loading, come on paddy get your finger out.

  2. Chris February 21, 2011 at 10:15 am #

    Hi Andy,

I have been advised there was a slight update to the release this morning to iron out some bugs. If you hard refresh it should resolve any issues you are having.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    • David Llewelyn February 21, 2011 at 1:08 pm #

And what is “hard refresh” when it’s at home? Why can’t computer people speak in a language that other people can understand?

      • Chris February 21, 2011 at 1:13 pm #

        Hi David,

A hard refresh is Ctrl + F5 when it’s at home. It clears a previous stored version of the page on your machine.

        Thanks,
        Chris

    • David Llewelyn February 21, 2011 at 1:28 pm #

Thanks very much. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have any effect on my iMac and I am still left without racing pages that can be used, no e/w button and unable to alter my personal details as the “save” button seems inactive too. A bit of a shame from a site that I have had no problems with for the last three years on a variety of platforms.

      • Andy Grigor February 22, 2011 at 8:43 am #

        And………………………. Still nothing.

  3. Martin Pidhajeckyj February 21, 2011 at 10:18 am #

The new racing post information is welcome, however its not easy on the eye as the form figures are too small and should be more prominent and the white coloured prices on a green background doesn’t work as its not easy to glance at.

    • noel February 21, 2011 at 3:43 pm #

Hi, i agree the form figures are the smallest print on this new page, WHY only paddy nows,,,, if punters wanted racingpost we would click on, http://www.racingpost.com

  4. Penelope Smith February 21, 2011 at 10:22 am #

Looks great, but what has happened to the daily money back specials on racing?

  5. noel February 21, 2011 at 10:26 am #

not very good, the old page was a lot better, mite have to go elsewhere,, already have acces to racingpost site

  6. bethsdad February 21, 2011 at 10:51 am #

have refreshed racecards still not opening as paddy himself would surely say fek fek fek!

  7. bethsdad February 21, 2011 at 10:52 am #

as paddy himself would surely say fek fek fek! cant get my bets on

    • Chris February 21, 2011 at 10:57 am #

      Hi bethsdad,

A Hard refresh with Ctrl + F5 should resolve any issues you may currently be experiencing. Let us know how you get on.

      Thanks,

      Chris

  8. Annie February 21, 2011 at 11:03 am #

I cannot open racecards to put a bet on??????????????????????????? Have tried refresh but have had to look at other company racing cards which seems to defeat the object?

  9. Michael Farringdon February 21, 2011 at 11:04 am #

Only partially works on my usual browser, Camino. The horses and prices don’t appear. Have found that it works, but somewhat iffy, maybe 90%, with Safari. It seems as if some more work needs to be done by your boffins. Best of luck.

  10. Jean Pardey February 21, 2011 at 11:08 am #

I cant see the names of the horses or put a bet on! I will either be saving a lot of money or moving to a new betting site – please get this sorted Paddy Power. Jean

  11. bethsdad February 21, 2011 at 11:10 am #

card opens when click tote but not quik or advanced plus i just want to see whole card at the same time not have to click each race guess its bookies for me today

  12. kev connolly February 21, 2011 at 11:13 am #

Awful changes! impossible to find simple information, I’ll sign on with some other betting company until you sort it out or put it back the way it was. Send me an email when you’ve done that.

  13. Brian Collins February 21, 2011 at 11:15 am #

can`t get me bet on as easily as I did on the old site took me twice as long to suss it out……………not good Paddy

  14. seamus mckenna February 21, 2011 at 11:17 am #

new horse racing page is class. far more information on the horses in each race. wel done!!

  15. graham.griffiths February 21, 2011 at 11:24 am #

im with andy on this one ye cant get into the race cards. i think the old page was not bad at all there was no need to change it at all

  16. leo February 21, 2011 at 11:37 am #

    Disaster. !!!
    Why change it before Chelteham.?

  17. Dave Lev February 21, 2011 at 11:44 am #

I can’t see the jockeys details unless I go onto ‘advanced view’ – this is a right pain as this can be useful info when betting. If you do go onto advanced’, the info displayed means other rival horses info disappears of the page and you have to scroll down to cpature it – so it’s not as easy to use – which was a major plus point before.

    • robdorepp February 21, 2011 at 12:20 pm #

      Hi Dave,

If you click the little green arrow beside the horse’s name in the quick view mode, circled below:

it will expand to display the basic jockey and trainer info for all horses.

Hopefully this is what you’re after.

      Cheers
      Rob

      • Dave Lev February 21, 2011 at 12:54 pm #

Rob – top stuff, that’s exactly what I wanted – thanks.

Although PP Live Help said there was no way other than clicking ‘advanced’ , so it’s 1 up to you!

        Thanks again.

  18. Krishan Church February 21, 2011 at 11:45 am #

I think the new layout is superb and so handy to have. It saves having two tabs open, one for racing post and the other your website but now its all there at your fingertips. Superb!

  19. Sam Marley February 21, 2011 at 11:52 am #

i personally think that the new pages and the update is such a great improvement and others that are complaining need to embrace the change. well done paddy. good move!

  20. sandra February 21, 2011 at 11:58 am #

i think this is great it is 10 times better than the other one well done paddy power

  21. stuart reid February 21, 2011 at 12:12 pm #

no likey the new set up especially before cheltenham, miss my a-z search which has changed ,also preferred the old racecards

  22. johnvan200 February 21, 2011 at 12:29 pm #

This is frustrating. Cannot get odds displayed or place a bet. Why try to fix something that isn’t broken.
I will have to use another bookie today.

  23. liam staunton February 21, 2011 at 12:38 pm #

    does it work with chrome?
cant get the racecards to load using it
after a few mins i still see Loading…..
the old way was streets ahead of any other bookmaker
cant see how anyone would have thought otherwise and ive
    used every bookie out there
im heading back to boyles if things dont improve
i only use chrome and that wont be changing anytime soon

  24. liam staunton February 21, 2011 at 12:47 pm #

cant get racecards to load using chrome
    what a disaster
there was no need to change
    it was perfect.

  25. Dave Lumb February 21, 2011 at 12:51 pm #

Can’t find the race cards!! Can’t bet!!

  26. liam staunton February 21, 2011 at 1:03 pm #

an agent has told me theres a compatibility issue using chrome
    it surely wasnt there before
my card for wolves has been loading for over 15 mins
    too much hassle
i realise now how much i loved the old racecards

    • robdorepp February 21, 2011 at 1:58 pm #

I’m not a techie expert but there appears to be a bug causing the loading issue for some users of Chrome. Our team of Star Trek fans are releasing a fix for it very shortly. Within the next half hour or so I’ve been told. This only seems to be effecting a small minority of customers, that’s not to say it’s any less annoying for those of you it is effecting, but if you can bear with us, people who know far more about this kind of thing than I do should have it all sorted very soon. I’ll let you all know when the fix goes in so you can make sure it’ working okay for you. Please continue to let us know what you think or if you are having any issues.

  27. David Llewelyn February 21, 2011 at 1:06 pm #

Terrible. Racing pages will not load; adverts obliterate prices. E/w button inactive.

  28. marmottan February 21, 2011 at 1:20 pm #

What a shambles! I am on aol and although I can access the site, I cannot load the racecards or have a bet. Don’t you people test these things before you put them on? Cannot bet here so will spend the afternoon looking at other bookmakers’ site when 24 hours ago I had absolutely no problems with Paddy Power. A great way to drive customers elsewhere!

  29. Mark Dunn February 21, 2011 at 1:20 pm #

Your NEW racing website stuff is horrendous. Some parts don’t work, I can’t see the horses and how to bet on them etc. I’ve spent literally thousands of pounds on your site, but after this I am now going to be betting at other websites who actually look after there customers and value them and don’t over complicate things as you did with your poker site and that’s also why I never play poker on paddypower anymore.

  30. Mark February 21, 2011 at 1:24 pm #

Cannot see horses and buttons not responding. Probably need to adjust my settings somewhere but this shouldn’t happen. Cannot get a bet on so off to BET365.

This is my site— No Racecard at all Great Site Off elsewhere

  32. Karen Poole February 21, 2011 at 1:59 pm #

I had a shock when going to place my bets this morning and at first I wasn’t sure I liked what I found, but WOW now I do. I haven’t had any trouble accessing anything or placing my bets and the integration of the Racing Post info, racing predictor etc are brilliant – saves me switching back and forth between PP and RP websites.
A big thumbs up, I say!!!

  33. Sean February 21, 2011 at 2:07 pm #

    Doesn’t work using Chrome………..

  34. Jay February 21, 2011 at 2:12 pm #

Very good, looks well, only problem i have is its very annoying the way the Fallers insurance markets are up 1st, and u have to click the arrow to just see the odds (and previous odds etc)

This should be the other way round!!!!

    • James Grimes February 21, 2011 at 3:38 pm #

Hi Jay. click on “My Account” in the top left of the screen, then “Website Preferences”. At the bottom of this page click “Racecard only” in the “Set Races to Display” section and Save. You will then see all the info you are looking for by default, and can still see the other markets if you wish by expanding the market selection.

  35. john mc February 21, 2011 at 2:14 pm #

given up! original site perfect,i will give a week to see if it gets less confusing before finding another source.

  36. Paul Quinlan February 21, 2011 at 2:14 pm #

Overall its good, but I think the form is lost in there, I used to scan it instantly now I have to go searching for it.
Why can the form figures be the link instead of the big green word Form, and surely you can come up with something better than having “RP Spotlight” written on every line, looks clunky – can i suggest an icon ?

Now please sort out the really irritating bug where I can’t see double digit odds on my safari betslip.

Oh and while I’m at it, please please sort out how results display on the iphone app, its a nightmare.

    Thanks

  37. William February 21, 2011 at 2:17 pm #

If it ain’t broke etc., I’m off to another site. I’ll try you’re site occasionally to see if it works

  38. Rich from Devon February 21, 2011 at 2:19 pm #

Cant get even 1 race open to see horses or odds ? , let alone get a bet on ? , so i want be losing today , why play around with a site which was working perfectly well ? if this is’nt sorted Paddy, i will have to leave the best bookmakers and go elsewhere to bet, as i bet everyday

  39. NickB February 21, 2011 at 2:21 pm #

    It’s an absolute nightmare!!
Really liked the first impressions (hot jockeys/trainers etc) but that’s no good if I can’t access the racecards or have a bet….. Need to get this sorted asap before you end up losing more custom…..

  40. Gerry February 21, 2011 at 2:23 pm #

Awful – go back to the way it was. “Custom Racecard” doesn’t work. Even the old custom racecards limitation of 5 races was/is way behind the Ladbrokes site where there is no limit on the number of races that you can put in the racecard.

  41. Ian Makinson February 21, 2011 at 2:27 pm #

Would be good if I could get a race card up so I can have a bet after all that is why I joined your site
Bring back the old site at least it took my money
    Ian

  42. MARK February 21, 2011 at 2:36 pm #

Waste of time can’t get a racecard up, back to william hill for me ,was’nt anything wrong with
    the old system

  43. Briantheref February 21, 2011 at 2:47 pm #

Where did the Steamers go?? Isn’t Listing jockeys or trainers is pretty basic on a form card? Thanks.

    • James Grimes February 21, 2011 at 5:04 pm #

Hi Briantheref, you will find Steamers under the “Tips” tab along with the Racing Post signposts such as Selection Box, Hot & Cold Jockeys, etc.
If you click the green button with the arrow beside the horses name, you’ll see jockey, trainer, weight, Racing Post Rating, weight, age & Previous odds. You can make this your default view if you like – click on “My Account” in the top left of the screen, then “Website Preferences”. At the bottom of this page click “Racecard only” in the “Set Races to Display” section and Save. You will then see all the info you are looking for by default, and can still see the other markets if you wish by expanding the market selection.

  44. Paul February 21, 2011 at 2:59 pm #

I moved over from betfred because his site was so slow, but it worked, this new “custom racecard” has ruined your racing page.

  45. neil kemp February 21, 2011 at 3:06 pm #

Had no problems with the old system, find this one a disaster, unable to access prices or place the bets I want. May have to give up and go elsewhere, sorry!

    • Alison February 21, 2011 at 3:26 pm #

very hard to use , and not user friendly , I am not pc novice or internet novice ,this is incredibly difficult to navigate, I “play’ on this website when on a break, no fun anymore, I used to back jockeys not horses and with shifting odds, odds will only show shifting featur when you refresh page consistently, I have struggled with it most of the day and have now offically given up ! Funds will be withdrawn and will play elsewhere

  46. Anthony Daniels February 21, 2011 at 3:16 pm #

What a eap of crap. How is one meant to view the runners, nothing but a blank page comes up. Get back to the old way ASAP

  47. Mary Jo February 21, 2011 at 3:27 pm #

I use AOL and site a disaster, only good thing others struggling as well, thought it was myself could not fathom it out. Works better on Internet Explorer but do not want the hassle. If no improvement will go elsewhere. Site was great before, and I could go to Racing Post website if needed. Paddy, you have shot yourself in the foot. hope you will compensate your customers in some way….

  48. roger mathews February 21, 2011 at 3:59 pm #

terrible ! , please bring back the old layout , or at least allow us to change back to the old view , racecards are appalling

  49. Lazypunter February 21, 2011 at 4:04 pm #

Don’t like new look. Too much information…
I just want to place the bet thanks.
I do all my research elsewhere, and choices before I bet.
I want to be in and out. I don’t want to stay on your site.

    • Larry Kemish February 21, 2011 at 5:43 pm #

      Totaly agree.

  50. Jill Moss February 21, 2011 at 4:10 pm #

The new website will take some getting used to as I loved the old one. However I am disappointed that past form figures are no longer shown as this was the deciding factor on my selections, Regards, Jill

    • Rob February 21, 2011 at 4:16 pm #

      Hi Jill,

If you click on the word ‘form’ directly below the horse’s name you’ll get the details of last three races it ran and if you click on the horse’s name you’ll launch a pop-up which detail the horse’s complete form, courtesy of the Racing Post.

Hopefully this is what you’re after but if not,
      then let me know.

      Cheers
      Rob

  51. nathan astbury February 21, 2011 at 4:15 pm #

Wont load racecards with google chrome….very bad and already cost me and probably paddy money, free bets should be awarded to all those inconvenienced by this complete cock up, if it aint broke why fix it?

  52. alan February 21, 2011 at 4:40 pm #

Didnt work for me until I used the ctrl+f5 refresh…works a treat now,Im using chrome.

  53. Risteard February 21, 2011 at 4:54 pm #

Fantastic update to the site Paddy!
As for Nathan Astbury’s “if it ain’t broke, why fix it?” approach; clearly his business acumen needs some fixing.

    • liam staunton February 21, 2011 at 8:11 pm #

i prefer to do my research and then go gambling
      loved the old layout however
the new layout won’t wont with chrome so i
guess it is broke now and it does need fixing

  54. diane smith February 21, 2011 at 5:13 pm #

Difficult to see how prices are changing now, was nice and easy before!

    • Rob February 21, 2011 at 5:26 pm #

      Hi Diane,

As with the form guide, if you click the little green button beside the horse’s name, the Insurance Markets will disappeara and you’ll be able to see the previous odds.

      Hope this helps.

      Rob

  55. Simon Martin February 21, 2011 at 5:14 pm #

I wish web-site operators would realise that some of us lesser mortals use wireless and the new pages take forever to load…. :-(

  56. Ed February 21, 2011 at 5:27 pm #

sorry but have to say two thumbs down, not liking it what so ever, have you heard the phrase “if its not broken dont fix it”, that should have applied ehre, the outlay is nice and pro which is fair enough its very easy on the eye but i have had so much difficulty looking for Jockeys, betting history, sorry but i cant see myself staying here for much longer….

The way oyu had it was fine, you should have left it alone, what about the cuastomers who were happy with the way it was, is it just a matter of tough luck, majority rule???

  57. Michael February 22, 2011 at 12:10 am #

It will be Great when it’s finished ! Some very helpful additions ! But, where are the Racing Post animated horseeZzz – predicting the races for us so we don’t have to check out the form LOL :-)

  58. bethsdad February 22, 2011 at 9:36 am #

it worked yesterday afternoon but tuesday morning now its not working again no cards appearing i put my bets on usually 8 am before i go to work if there is no cards i will have to change bookies cmon this is just bobbins who exactly asked for these donk changes

  59. bethsdad February 22, 2011 at 9:48 am #

i think paddy power could be in the midst of a GERALD RATNER moment, cards are not opening again so on workdays my bets would have failed as usually put em on at 8am

  60. lanarkian February 22, 2011 at 11:01 am #

Well done, think that the new racing pages are a terrific improvement.Much appreciate the predictor and other information from the racing post. surprised to see negative comments as I have had no problems whatsoever all we need now are a few more winners !!

  61. Ian Makinson February 22, 2011 at 11:19 am #

Still cant have a bet on this **** site when are you goping to LISTEN to your customers or are you going to wait till you realy notice how much money you are losing
    Ian

  62. Robbo February 22, 2011 at 11:41 am #

This is a wojice change, whats separates paddy from the rest was the simplicity of the site. Being able to log in quickly and wap a bet on sharpish. Also ill bet (excuse pun) that you will notice a downturn in bets from people who back jockeys blind seeing as how you have removed the jockey names from the main racecard. If you click into a racecard a minute before the off and see walsh mccoy etc at the head of the market you are more willing to rush in and bet. Layout = poor. Complication = poor and as you must know paddy us punters are for the most part unresponsive to change. change it back and we wont have any issues :(

  63. Jean Pardey February 22, 2011 at 11:55 am #

Yesterday I would have agreed with the comments about the new look website. I couldn’t get the race cards to appear and couldn’t put a bet on. I have now got it to work and like the new features – I would like to see the form more clearly, it is buried in text but apart from that it works well. Once you have rebooted the site, lost all your passwords and logged on again! I think by the end of the week it will feel ok and I really like the link to the racing post predictor and the ease of getting video and radio coverage. Jean

  64. Mark S February 22, 2011 at 7:02 pm #

All the bugs seem to be sorted. Today was far better. Good that reference can be made to racing post. Would be better if live comments were also included. You are forgiven.

  65. liam staunton February 23, 2011 at 2:38 pm #

for all google chrome users like myself….here is your fix
go to options…under the hood…clear browsing data, at that bottom of the clear browsing data
go to adobe flash player settings then on the new webpage in the storage website setting panel
scroll down to paddy power and delete website
paddy wasnt in mine so i deleted all sites and now the racecards at least load
still dont like it though but its here to stay i was just told
    hope this helps someone

  66. graeme rintoul February 25, 2011 at 11:52 am #

Hate the new layout, nothing wrong with old one.

Does not work on Google Chrome, the fastest browser & most popular, please note this!

Old website was still better than other bookmakers.

Please listen to your punters Paddy,or they will leave you.

  67. David Cummings April 2, 2011 at 3:29 pm #

I have a new macbook and I cant to listen to the commentary just wont play on it it worked on my old Toshiba – any suggestions

  68. arry February 17, 2012 at 9:37 pm #
