I am sorry and mortified at the service we offered on Saturday.
All Saturday afternoon our customers had a lot of difficulty getting their bets on, either through our website or our mobile services. We were also slow to in getting winnings back into people’s accounts. This was due to serious technical problems in our systems.
There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to get your bet on and no apology from me can get around that. Rest assured, we will resolve it.
At Paddy Power, we want to provide the best sports betting service in the world with a top quality customer experience. Clearly, we were a long way from that today and for that I am truly sorry.

this has not happened in the last couple of months it happened to me last week with the poker site ,were i can not reg for any games ,i also lodged money in today and i have not recieved it .Major heads needs banging there in paddy power tech apart from all this mess it is a good site but furstrating when this happens 2 weeks in a row

Thanks for the reply but tried that recently but will try again, the mobile site on safari rarely works for me, I can chat all I want about moving bookies but realistically I never will, betted with you all my life, its just getting annoying now missing out on the odd horse with the app not working and I said said above your customer servive hasn’t been upto its usual high standards at all lately.

This seems to be a occurring theme over the last few days. You always advertise the quality of your service on tv but it is false advertising. Saturday is my biggest day. Why don’t u advertise maintanence during the silent hours once a week.
Happened me again for the countless time today. If you look through my customer history there are numerous documented instances of me giving out about your iPhone and iPad app. It really is a joke!! I was given the usual clear your cache and clear your cookies BS story. Really need to buck up your game if you want to keep customers but I feel this is the last straw for myself. Hi simon, i think the problem is that Paddy Power DON`T do enough maintenance on their site and Apps that create these problems. It was down for maintenance today because the website stopped working after about 1pm or so. The maintenance should be done when most of us are asleep…lol

I had trouble logging in today and last Saturday so was unable to place a bet when i wanted. Also last week the horse racing was unavailable for a short period, very disappointing when trying to place a bet. It’s no good saying i would of won money cos your going to expect that anyway, but ive started using paddypower more lately instead of Sky as you offer best price. I complained about 10 days ago and got advice to clear my cookies etc, was told no-one else was experiencing problems. I still can’t navigate the horse racing website smoothly; no probs with ANY other website, and I can use your football matches site OK.

Every similar site slows down between 2.45 and 3.00, if you’re gonna be that late getting your soccer bets on (not just PP). I fell foul of it once or twice (on other sites) – now I get them on an hour or so earlier.
MMM It should be said that i am really enjoying the site at the moment though as i am not doing too bad here and i have been rewarded unexpectidley on a couple of winning occasions.

After 2 phone calls, 1 email, 1 ring back request and 1 sessin on live help…………….no-one still knows what the problem is. Yesterday i was told it would be sorted 2moro. Still no joy !!
After another session on Live help this morning im told this
“Hi, unfortunately we did have some technical issues on the site yesterday and our technical team will be going through these issues over the next few days. I cannot give you a better time frame unfortunately due to the size of the issues as these will have to be dealt with by our technical team first.”

I have been with pp for a lot of years now and this last 2 weeks is the worst i have ever experienced.
From horses missing on cards last week to the spotlight a mess this week.
Yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back could not even get through by phone.

rule says i have to have 50 or less in acc and no open bets before i can change method. So last week i was skint so i use my credit card, and i win a few pounds and want to lift to my bank account but cant.

You should attempt to retain your existing clientele by making some sort of goodwill gesture, for lost revenue, lost time, and most importantly to compensate for the VERY frustrating afternoon experienced by your customers. Just in case you wonder, a measly €2 free bet, or even €5 free bet will NOT do the trick for the majority of us. Bear that in mind. Here’s to PP sorting out their online issues, pronto.

Hi the problems especially on a Saturday need to be looked at. Though I managed to get small bets on in the morning I was unable to place my main afternoon bets. Paddy has progressed so much and I recommend you to many friends and family,just hope it gets resolved otherwise will be going elsewhere,especially with the festival coming up soon,I want to be able to get bets on in time.
Can’t believe all these jokers were going to back Sunderland to win 2-0 (and the crowd to be under 27,000, etc. etc.) Lots of sites go very slow between 2 and 3 just before the football kick-off. If you’re that serious a punter (no disrespect, Paddy) you have a mix of accounts (in the rare event that someone else offers a better price – no disrespect, Paddy).

This is not the first time on a Saturday. I couldn’t get in a couple of weeks ago and ended up phoning PP support to make sure I was not logged out. I missed a couple of losing bets fortunatley but yesterday I tried to put a lucky 15 on with Restless Harry, Binocular, Giles Cross and As De Fer. I went in and out of the site twice & then got the message the race was off. I went on to live betting and Restless Harry was 2/1. disgusted I tried to put the same stake on Restless Harry as a live win bet. guess what….. waiting……waiting…..waiting. before 2this bet may not have been placed.
I will have to start using other bookmakers if this continues as an appology does not make up for missing the excitment of backing a winner.

I was trying to bet on Sunderland from my phone for 15 minutes and couldn’t understand what was happening and why I could not log on. It was only when I got on to my laptop and opened Paddy Power that I saw there was a problem. Paddy Power should have made sure the error message was on the mobile site too, as this caused me and I am sure others alot of confusion.Ah weel, still delighted Sunderland beat Arsenal even if I didn’t make any money off it……

I’m a small time but regular punter and what happened yesterday was frustrating. I love the challenge of picking a horse or a team against the bookie. While we all love to win, it’s not the end of the world if we don’t. PP was the biggest loser yesterday(all the money that couldn’t get on), closely followed by this punter who was deprived of the enjoyment. A time mistake in today’s email (1.40 Ffos Las) really doesn’t inspire me.
Unlike many I got a bet on yesterday with Paddy Power BUT it seems that if you place a bet in-play and it comes up within 2 minutes they void it and tell you their systems were down and the event had already happened. This is absolutely shameful!!
I can’t believe they actually have a rep for being the best online bookies, I’m having to fight and argue with them to get money from them that is mine. Currently awaiting a response.

i was going to put a big bet on arsenal so i suppose it works both ways but saying that it was very frustrating not being able to put a bet on a saturday.
I wouldn’t mind if it was the first time but this has happened a lot before it is so frustrating when you are waiting an hour for your bet to be settled, not professional at all, I will be reviewing which bookie I will use in the future

So the system will reopen at 1745hrs on 1st February 2012. You can deposit money and you can bet from your account credit. You just cant get your money back!!. PP can’t be bothered to update his first post here. Sounds like a bank.
I managed to get my bets on (I think) but i wouldnt know has my account and been suspended, anyone know why this might have been? I have done nothing different to what I normally do. And when i try to log on to see how much I’ve won (because my bets actually won) and find that my accounts been suspended. Does this mean that my bets that won havent gone through because its been suspended? If thats the case I am going to be mightly P*ssed off!

Its good to see a bookmaker admit when it is his fault and come out with no excuses and just being honest about what has happened no ones perfect and i know my business will never go to any other bookmaker.
Two things have to happen… and now.
1) Make sure this doesn’t happen again. At least not in the next 12 months. It’s not good enough
2)Don’t pass along some crappy “promotion” under the guise of an apology. Not “special prices” or money back guarantee that requires a play being stopped due to a cat running on the pitch during the same game that a man handcuffs himself to a goalpost. Don’t offer some “free 2 euro bet” on a tennis match where one of the players has to be a hermaphrodite. Say sorry and mean it and show that you mean it. Offer back something substantial based on the users activity. Say a free bet of 5% of what you have staked in the last couple of weeks or something equally fair in rewarding your best customers. Ever heard of the 80/20 rule? You seem to forget this when you combine your apology with a derisory offer.
It gets worse. I have stayed loyal despite PP costing me dear yesterday & had a few bets including Market Rasen. as I have brought my balance down to less than £1 I could not watch my first bet. I now have to deposit more with this shambles of a firm to watch races I have had a bet in.

Have had accounts with your competitors and find your service to be the best I can see where other customers are coming from but I can only say I’ve had these issues with other Bookmakers websites and mob apps. Have had problems accessing the mob app from time to time but think that’s a issue for my phone company.
PP should offer regular customers a free bet for a half decent amount because of this. I was trying for ages to get a good bet on Sevilla and Juventus which would have eclipsed my losses earlier in day. If they don’t do something better than a couple of minor promotions I can see a lot of punters walking.

Still not fixed properly, the my bets is coming and going today, gone at tyhe moment. Got my bets on yesterday so it cost me nothing. Site is not as good as it used to be. The poker site was always a pain in the arse so I stopped using it.
big networks will have a requirement of a 99.999% (5-9s) up time. I’ve been using paddypower for over 3 years and this is the first time i’ve seen it down. So I say thats close enough. The issue was probably unexpected and other then this, paddypower always offer a good service. Give them a break.

evening all, I was pretty dis-satisfied but by issuing a frank, honest and sincere apology it goes almost the enitre way to me being fine with it. (I’m sure most people could have created a new account with some of the lesser-quality competitors and put their bets on no?) If we get a free bet or three then I’m sure that will properly resolve this issue and be appropriate redress for the ‘distress and inconvenience’ caused and for missing the guaranteed winners everyone seems to have wanted to back!
I have had major difficulties in the past with PP in the withdrawing of money area and it took over 3 months to sort out. this incident, like mine previously, defo merits a decent free bet to all it’s online customers…that should be a given. I hope this happens…

Quite right, Adam. It’s not rocket science and although PP is actually my most used site (I log on most days – no lie – and I’ve seen very little down-time over the years), any semi-serious punter with half a brain has more than one account.

im sure the majority of people here were not tied up at work on saturday. my advice would be get up off your lazy arse and walk/drive to your nearest bookie if you have that much of an itch to bet. Err, if they have managed to “walk to the bookie to deposit in their account” is that cash they are trying to deposit ? Why not just bet with the cash over the counter in the old-fashioned way, or am I missing something ?

And another one i got caught on for a sweet treble a good while ago… 2 winners….last on riden by ruby in a photo…. placed 2nd… stewards enquiry…. result stands…. 4 days later result reversed…. powers refused to pay as bets only settled on result that day
