Gary Pallister on Ferdinand, England and getting pissed

Listen here

This week one of the best central defenders in Manchester United’s history, Gary Pallister joins the show.

Pally will be getting stuck in to the England squad heading to Euro 2012, why Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand should be there in Poland and how getting leathered after the game might be a good idea.

‘A couple of pints after the game isn’t a bad thing said the former England international. ‘You’ve got to be relaxed. By all intents and purposes Fabio Capello was a little strict with the lads and the regime was very tight. You train, go to the hotel and then to sleep, tournament football is a boring experience. Roy Hodgson’s got the experience and will use that to hopefully answer the problem’.

‘Rio Ferdinand is more suited to International football than John Terry. Rio’s game is more suited to the international arena and it’s a major surprise that he’s not going to the tournament’.

Host Ciaran O’Raghaillaigh is also joined by Polish football journalist Michal Zachodny to discuss the recent Panorama documentary focused on the fan violence at Euro 2012.

And the team will pick out the best bets from Group B which is the classic ‘Group of Death’ featuring Holland, Germany, Portugal and Denmark.
