It was all about being first off the mark for the person who shouted out “new balls plaese!” after Andy Murray smashed the ball in to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga’s eh…gentleman’s region during their semi-final clash on Friday.
The Scottish player will need to be similarly sharp against six-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer today if he’s to lift his first Grand Slam title. Murray is 6/5 to win the crucial opening set and hand an early blow to Federer.
The odd stray smash in the direction of Mr Federer’s special place may not be a bad idea either. Just to keep him on his toes. That’s not to say he should do it intentionally but it could happen accidentally…on purpose.
