‘She’s the face of 2012, the face of Team GB and she hasn’t let it get to her’, says the Olympics editor for the Guardian, Owen Gibson. ‘But you can’t afford to have a weak event in the heptathlon and she’s got two very tough challengers. It won’t be easy but she’ll win a medal of some colour’.

Will it be a gold for Jessica Ennis at London 2012? Where else do Team GB have major medal ambitions? Owen Gibson from the Guardian joins us for a very special edition of the Padcast looking at some of the biggest stories surrounding the Olympic games ahead of Friday’s opening ceremony.

Owen gets stuck in to which events Team GB can taste success in, as well as giving us his thoughts on the ultimate showdown between Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake in the 100 metres.

The Padcast team break down where there is money to be made with some top tips that might have passed you by and if that’s not enough Katie Taylor gives us an insight into her preparation going into the ring! Ireland’s biggest hope for a gold medal and champion boxer Taylor tells us her pre-fight ritual and how she deals with the expectation of a nation.
