GIMME SOME MO: Mo Farah goes for 10,000m gold tonight.

After beating the Cube, Mo Farah will have no trouble doing something as easy as winning an Olympic gold. The Brit takes part in the final of the 10,000 meters tonight. He’s 6/5 to add to his previous World and European successes at this distance.
Jessica Ennis goes in to the final day of the Heptathlon in the lead following personal bests in the 100m hurdles and the 200m metres and hold s a 184 point lead over second placed Austra Skujyte. Today she has the long jump, 800 metres and the javelin, three events which chasing world champion Tatyana Chernova is particularly good at. Ennis is 1/6 to win gold but she’ll need to keep the chasing pack at bay with a solid day of performancess.
In the boxing, Ireland’s Paddy Barnes takes on Thomas Essomba in the last 16 of the men’s 49kg category. Barnes is 1/5 to win this fight and is looking good to at least emulate his bronze medal from Beijing. For Team GB Thomas Stalker is strongly fancied at 1/6 to book himself a place in the quarter-finals by beating Indian fighter Manoj Kumar at 65kg.
Football
In Olympic football the Great Britain’s women’s team were beaten 2-0 in the quarter-finals by Canada in the Ricoh Stadium in Coventry, denying them a chance of getting amongst the medals.
The men are playing South Korea in their quarter-final tonight and are 11/10 to win in 90 minutes. Can Stuart Pearce do what hosts of British international managers have failed to do since 1966 and win a major tournament?
Joey Barton is and isn’t going to sign a contract with League Two side Fleetingwood. No one really cares beyond hoping to see him fall flat on his face. That’s the kind of people we are.
