Videos: A terrible tribute to the Flying Finn and a Fat Kid

Fat’s very clever

Nike have always done a great line in clever and subtle motivation type advertisements. Who doesn’t love their cheeky London ad, featuring people taking part in sports in every location called London in the world, except one? Because nowadays sporting bodies are allowed to exercise the kind of control we decry as tyranny when we see it being practised on the political stage.

Anyway, here’s a video of a fat kid which proves to be wonderfully aspiring. I know they’re just selling over-priced sports equipment but sometimes I wonder if they’re really trying to make us all better people. Better people dressed head to toe in expensive slave-labour made Nike clothing but better people none the less.

Some Finn Special

Any Liverpool fans out there will fondly remember Sami Hyppia, the Flying Finn. Now managing Bayer Leverkusen, Sami remains a fans favourite after spending ten years at the club. So there’ll be few complaints from Reds fans at the idea of Finnish rock band Left Foot Company penning a tribute song to the towering former centre-half.

However, don’t expect to see this on whichever MTV channel actually plays music these days.

Is that Sami Hyppia in both clips ? Let himself go a bit, recently, hasn’t he ?

No but I’m pretty sure the kid in the top video is the same as the one in the second video. I don’t know the order the were filmed in so either he’s been working really hard to lose the weight or he’s gone a bit mental on the cheese-strings over the summer.
