There’s plenty of heated debate in Power Tower this morning about who notched the best Premier League goal over the weekend. There were a fair few to choose from and incredibly there’s not a Fernando Torres toe-poke in sight! Here’s our run down of what we think are the top three net-busters from the weekend!
3. Luis Suarez
A curling free-kick from the Liverpool front-man gave them the lead against Manchester City. The pace and whip on the ball left Joe Hart with absolutely no chance. Mancini questioned the positioning of the wall but it looked pretty much spot on to us. A top quality hit from the Anfield star.
2. Robin Van Persie
Not a bad way to mark your home debut for Manchester United! RVP with a delightful strike from a Paddy Evra cross that whistled past the helpless Mark Schwarzer. United fans will be hoping this is the first of many for Van Persie this season.
1. Steven Pienaar
The South African opened the scoring at Villa Park with a stunning effort that had Shay Given grasping thin air. Pienaar rolls the ball out of his feet before bending a cracking shot into the back of the net from 20 yards.
