BACKING THE BLUES: Everton look great value to beat West Brom today

There are few better things in life than settling down on a Saturday afternoon with a beer in hand and a betting slip longer than your arm. Here at the Paddy Power Blog we’ve cast our eye over four teams that look like good value in the market and could boost the returns from your accy.

Swansea 6/5

Swansea v Sunderland, Liberty Stadium, 3.00pm

  • Swansea have won both their opening games, scoring eight goals without conceding
  • They have scored with eight of the 11 shots they’ve had on target this season
  • Sunderland are winless in nine League matches
  • Sunderland only won two of their first 14 games last year
  • In the last eight meetings between the two sides Sunderland have only won one

Everton 6/4

West Brom v Everton, The Hawthorns, 3.00pm

  • Everton have now gone 11 League games without defeat
  • The Toffees have won on two of their last three visits to the Hawthorns
  • Last season Everton beat West Brom twice in the League and once in the League Cup
  • This is the best start to a season for Everton since 2007
  • If they avoid defeat today it will be Everton’s longest unbeaten run in the top-flight for 27 years

Sheffield Wednesday 7/5

Crystal Palace v Sheffield Wednesday, Selhurst Park, 3.00pm

  • Wednesday are yet to lose in any competition this season, winning four games and drawing one
  • They remain unbeaten in 18 games under Dave Jones
  • Crystal Palace have lost the last four games on the spin
  • The Eagles have conceded nine goals already and only managed 20 shots on goal in this campaign
  • In nine League games between these two Palace have only won one and that was back in 2007

Bristol City 8/5

Barnsley v Bristol City, Oakwell, 3.00pm

  • A win for Bristol would make it their best league start for 11 years
  • Bristol have won five of the last seven matches against Barnsley
  • Barnsley have already conceded eight goals in this Championship campaign – only Crystal Palace have conceded more
  • Barnsley have lost their last three competitive games on the trot
  • This could be Bristol’s third successive league win – the first time that’s happened since November
