GIF of the day: Pick Taarabt one out

It may not be much consolation to Mark Hughes, whose position as QPR manager looks increasingly unstable, but Adel Taarabt’s goal last night was an absolute peach of a strike.

Rangers were 2-0 down at home to West Ham when Taarabt came on and almost changed the game. Less than two minutes after coming off the bench the Moroccan side-stepped Guy Demel before unleashing a 30-yard rocket past the helpless Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Taarabt’s fizzing right-foot curler left the keeper unable to do anything but watch as it hit the top corner.

Despite the cracking goal QPR are in serious trouble. They have only picked up two points from their opening six games and are rock-bottom of the Premier League. Rangers are 11/4 to be relegated and Mark Hughes is now the 2/1 favourite in the Premeir League sack race.
