SLIDESHOW: Ireland need Robbie Keane’s incredibly camp wrist at its very best

He is Ireland’s record goalscorer with 53 goals in 118 appearances and is likely to play as a lone striker against Germany on Friday night at the Aviva.

Much of the pre-match talk has centred on Robbie Keane’s fitness as the LA Galaxy striker has missed training with an Achilles injury.

Keane is, however, expected to be fit for the Group C match. What’s more important is that his wrist is in tip-top shape.

Yes, since Robbie exploded onto the international scene in 1998 his incredibly camp wrist movement has played a key, under-appreciated role in his finding the net.

This Paddy Power Blog slideshow shows Keane’s wrist at its very best including that classic limp-wrist assisted equaliser against Germany at the 2002 World Cup.

Robbie’s wrist – c’mon, do it for Ireland.
