Ruby Walsh exclusive: Tarla my best ride at Clonmel

Ruby Walsh

Top jockey Ruby Walsh gives the Paddy Power blog the lowdown on his two remaining rides at Clonmel today.

Oliver Kiernan’s horses are in good form but I don’t know any more about Quietly Fancied than what he’s done on the racetrack. Willie Mullins use to train Allee Garde who was useful on his day but hasn’t completed in his last two starts.

Tarla gets 12lbs because she’s not as experienced as the other runners. If it was a hurdles race you’d really fancy Tarla but she has schooled well over fences at home. She jumped well in France before she ever arrived in Ireland and I think she’s probably my best ride on the day.

Turnandgo has been working well at home and I’d say Willie and Patrick will be disappointed if he’s beaten. Tony Mullins’ See U In Coppers was third in a point-to-point and can’t be discounted.

Looks like its Deutschland Thomas in the amateur race 3pm unless Dodging Bullets 2.25 gets some pace. Ruby will have a column Sat & Sun also. Cheers
