Betting news on Celtic, Manchester United, Sprinter Sacre

Football

Celtic face one of the biggest nights in their history and will advance to the knock-out stages of the Champions League if they better Benfica’s result against Barcelona when they face Spartak Moscow tonight.

If your winning 1st Goalscorer scores again we will DOUBLE your odds in the Celtic match.

Manchester United have a dead rubber against Cluj giving Sir Alex Ferguson the option of resting some players ahead of the weekend trip to the Etihad Stadium for the Manchester Derby.  Wayne Rooney is likely to start up front in a three-pronged attack featuring Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck.

Rafa Benitez has had a torrid time in the Chelsea hot-seat and if the reigning Champions League winners go out tonight it won’t get any easier. Benitez cannot be blamed but the Blues will become the first holders of the competition to go out at the group stages. FACT.

Roberto Mancini was not happy as Manchester City made a tame exit from the Champions League losing 1-0 at Borussia Dortmund – and failed to qualify for the Europa League. The Italian must lift his side ahead of his side hosting Manchester United at the Etihad in Sunday’s early kick off in the Premier League.  Arsene Wenger’s experimental young side self-imploded when 1-0 up against Olympiacos – losing 2-1 – meaning Arsenal now miss out on a seeding for the knock-out stages.

Horse Racing

Kent Street is Templegate’s nap in The Sun at Catterick 2.50 this afternoon as punters try to get some of the Christmas expenses.

Sandown have been forced to put the covers on the track ahead of the Tingle Creek clash between Sprinter Sacre and Sanctuaire on Saturday. Temperatures will dip below zero on Friday night and frost could be a factor.

Frankie Dettori will make a statement later today after his  hearing in France yesterday.  Dettori tested positive for a prohibited substance at Longchamp on September 16th and the former Godolphin ace has already indicated that he will “accept their conclusions without reservation”.

Today’s racing comes from Lingfield, Catterick, Hereford Kempton, and Wexford in Ireland.
