Paddy Power loves nothing more than Cheltenham and horse racing. Oh, and a bit of mischief.
So, for the Cheltenham Festival 2013 we have unleashed this beautiful giant green hot air balloon, based on our famous Lucky Pants.
After Ruby Walsh romped home on Champagne Fever on Tuesday, Paddy thought it only right to celebrate in style in a plan conceived after a night on the black stuff. Here are the results…

FULL OF HOT AIR: The Paddy Power team busy prepping our balloon in testing
Modelled on Paddy Power’s famous Lucky Pants, the balloon stands at a huge 63ft high and 60ft wide. It uses more than 3,600 sq ft of material, holds 115,000 cubic feet of air and boasts a belt-busting waistband of 2,260 inches. It took a team of top engineers and two of the UK’s most skilled seamstresses six months to make the giant undergarments flight-worthy.The basket carries up to four people (including the pilot). It’s nicknamed ‘Paddy Pant 1′ and made its debut appearance at Cheltenham after the Supreme Novice’s Hurdle.
