You know something strange is going on when Hull City are favourites for the Premiership. OK, it’s just the Handicap version, but we reckon that the handicap table - available here at Paddy Power - is the true reflection of who is doing the business.
Now that half the Premiership clubs are owned by billionaires the playing field can hardly be described as ‘level’. That’s why we give some clubs get a points start to make the battle a little fairer. And with their massive 56 points in hand, the Tigers are looking good to take the title at 6/1!
At the start of the season we weren’t alone in writing off the promoted sides, but it’s fair to say all three have shown the boo boys that a properly run and well-managed club is always capable of mounting a challenge. Are you watching Spurs and Newcastle? OK, Stoke (20/1) and West Brom (12/1) are finding things tough, but neither looks likely to do a Derby County this season. Fair play to both of them.
Meanwhile at the business end of the table Liverpool - now at 12/1 - have already overtaken Spurs! Chelsea also look like contenders and whilst most of the ‘mid table’ pack have dissapointed, Villa have to be one to watch. They look impressive under O’Neill and are already moving up the table and in to 8/1 for the title.

I was surprised at the lack of gloating so I hadnt any comment to make only the better team won on the day.Still not going to have any affect on the final table in May whan the trophys are given out Im afraid Spud.Wigan @ 11/10 home to Boro is the eyecather on this weekend coupon and Villa aldo tempting @ 15/2 with security of a goal start on the handicap @ 9/5 is still cracking value away to Chelski
