Well that’s it for this week.

Daniel is no more, Diana still has a voice that’s broke (I thought that was her thing?), Rachel is just threading water at this stage, Eoghan is getting much better (damn it), Alexandra looks like the one to beat, Ruth still does the best impression of Jessica Rabbit and JLS bring a creepy smile to the face of Louis Walsh.

I’ll be back next week with another live blog as Take That take to the stage and the contestants perform a selection of their songs….great! (Surely I have some holidays left to take)

20:27 Louis loved it, Cheryl loved it, Simon liked it and Danni had an over the top reaction. Ruth is clever, she’s talking about Britain and crying trying to con everyone into voting!

20:20 Advert Update. Diana did alright, should be safe. JLS and Danny still stand alone bad perfomances. Rachel, Eoghan and Alex all gave their best performances of the series I think.

19:59 Advert Update. Wouldn’t it be great if the BBC had this! Danny still the worse by far. JLS not the best either. Alex the one to beat, Rachel much better than other weeks.

19:45 JLS up now with their Beatles megamix, expect them to be safe this week. The family stories can be draining to watch but sure it wouldn’t be the X Factor without them I suppose!

19:40 Advert Update - So far I think Danny could suffer from being first to perform, there’s a trend in that having a say in the bottom two. Also he was dreadful! Alexandra was brilliant, I’ll be suprised if she doesn’t make the final.

19:21 Here we go, another Saturday night in front of ITV!

It’s been a strange week in X Factor world!

The Lauragate furor seemed to just run and run. At the end of day she didn’t get the public votes and so should’ve gotten the boot. Louis Walsh (making probably the only bit of sense in quite some time) was right to say she wouldn’t have won the show as nobody wins the show if they’re in the bottom two.

Mariah Carey week wasn’t the car crash I’d anticipated (Youtube Mariah Week on American Idol) but it was stange to watch the ‘the biggest star in the world today’ as Simon said, try to act like she cared for the contestants.

Am I the only one to think the way she hugged the contestants was colder than ice? I would’ve grabbed her and shook her about a bit!

This week the contestants will tackle big british hits:

JLS - I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Twist and Shout & Hey Jude megamix (I think this will go down well but why are we subjected to the same old same old? Eton Road did something like this if I remember rightly??)

Eoghan Quigg - One More Try (George Michael and Eoghan Quigg? Could work well but is the song that well known?)

Diana Vickers - Never Ever (She’s much better than this type of drivel, disapointed with Cheryl for picking it…..yeah right, who could ever be disapointed with little miss showbiz)

Alexandra Burke - You Are So Beautiful (Rod Stewart classic - again there’s better out there to sing)

Daniel Evans - It’s Not Unusual (Could be the week we finally see the back of him)

Ruth Lorenzo - Angels (Potential here to be the performance of the night)

Rachel Hylton - You Know I’m No Good (Her original audition song, should be brilliant)

I think we could see another suprise tonight with Rachel and Ruth both singing top class songs, what do you think?
