It’s good to know that the Irish and the English can agree on one thing. We prefer a fat ‘entertainer’ to a committed professional.
That’s all that can explain the ongoing popularity of both Andy Reid and John Sergeant. The big man may be providing chuckles to the nation as he drags the lovely Kristina around the floor, but surely he cannot be allowed to turn the noble and ancient art of ballroom dancing into a laughing stock?
You can understand why the judges are so upset. The competition is about finding the best dancer. That’s why they ask b-list celebrities to take part rather than professional dancers.
But no matter what Len and his fellow judges say, the great British public continue to vote for the balding politics buff. I would have loved to sit those voters down to watch the delectable Cherie Lunghi, literally in tears on “It Takes Two” last night. It’s a travesty.
It may well get worse before it gets better. There is a very real risk that even supreme talents like Austin Healey (now odds on at 10/11!) will be voted off the show. A scandal like that would rock the BBC to its foundations and could spell the end for the license fee.
So if the public won’t stop voting for him, would it be too much to ask that Sergeant voluntarily left the show? There’s no need to leave a bottle of whiskey and a revolver in the dressing room - a polite request should probably do it. For the good of the show, and light entertainment in general it’s a step he must consider taking.
For the sake of public broadcasting, and my tenner on Rachel Stevens, SERGEANT MUST GO!
Is It Time To Get Strict With Sergeant?

JS should not be kicked off while he is getting the votes.
Good old British public love to have a go to save the underdog and stick 2 fingers up to those telling them what they should do at the same time !!

In the last two reality TV shows we have seen Laura getting kicked off the X Factor (disgrace) and the Irish doll Jessie losing to a fat lass from Blackpool with no talent so this shouldn’t surprose you that this mug is still left in

stop talking through your pocket wee doug!
laura was poor on the night, got outsung in the sing-off and had no charisma. she was never a runner to win it this year - just glad there’s no rule 4 on my diana vickers and eoghan quigg bets!

When you back some many in the field, you may might hit the barn door once
November 19th, 2008 at 11:53 am
nah - i’ve backed 2: diana to win, and eoghan to win without diana.
they’re certs to be the final 2 - just a case of what order they finish. diana to pip eoghan.
if i get it wrong though, you won’t hear me whinging on hear about how these shows are a disgrace. i’ll take my medicine and keep my eye out for the next coup.

Villa beat Utd this Saturday, then a bit of Spanish football with the odd bet at Wolverhampton for good measure followed some prize fighting and then Ricky Hatton - whilst you lot will be getting stuck into this celebrity nonsense, you know where you can stick it!!

The british public are giving the two fingers to the BBC. Sick of hearing of how their licence fee is spend on overpaid talent (Jonathan Ross and the Strictly Judges) - they have decided to embarras them and the BBC in general by scuppering their flagship programme.
The great British public make be broke at the moment - but with phone in hand they are still able to show the establishment who has the power !

In fairness Spud Uniteds record at Villa makes them a great bet @ 4/5 thrown in with Chelski Liverpool Sunderland Reading Wolves home wins.A great admirer of Villa under Martin O Neill but I really think that United have the Indian sign over Villa at the moment

spud - while you’re doing your brains backing favourites, we’ll be making some profit to fund my champagne habit.
sully - villa seem a slightly different proposition this season - improving every year under MON - so while i’d be worried about them, with our record down there you’d have to fancy us.

The so called Great British public kick individuals when they are down, not organisations!

he was invited on the show, as have others who cant dancethem , so whats the point of inviting them if the judges moan if they get through. its an entertainment show and john was the most entertaining o0f them all. i wonder if hegave any thought to the people who have lost there money backing him.
