So let’s get this straight. It’s OK to invite a fat old man onto Strictly Come Dancing so that we can all laugh at him. But as soon as he starts winning the public over and is in with a chance of going all the way, he is somehow spoiling the integrity of the competition and making the whole thing ‘a joke’.
If it isn’t a joke, what the hell is it?
Do these people honestly believe that Strictly Come Dancing is some form of art? A high water mark in the history of Western culture to set alongside Hamlet and The Marriage Of Figaro? Let’s be honest, the only thing John was guilty of was showing up the whole event for what it actually was. A bit of fun.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love the show. Every Saturday night I am positively glued to my sofa. Particularly just after Rachel delivers another raunchy rhumba. But there’s no need to take things so seriously. And the campaign against John was absurd. Don’t stuff a programme full of third rate celebrities and then claim ‘it’s all about the dancing’.
Fans of John can rest assured though. We’ll be refunding all bets on John to win the event. It’s the least we can do. We’ll bill the po-faced Strictly Come Dancing judges and let you know how we get on.

to be honest, I thought there may have been a betting coup going on here, after all it would not be that difficult to get one going with a system of continued phoning for john!!
Now he has decided to leave, are we all happy? well I for one most definately is. Maybe we can now get some sence back to the show and dispite what is said, it IS a Dancing Contest and SHOULD be judged as such.
Maybe I am a bit biased as I support Christine and the whole one show would I am sure not thought it right that she went out and John was kept in, maybe she will now pick up his votes.
PS, just a thought. Maybe this is just another way John will pick up votes from the public, they will be so proud and sorry for him that by public demand he will decide to stay in and of course he will get even more votes. So, what are the odds he will decide not to “Fall on his Sword?

Will Paddy give me odds on John making a dramatic come back due to popular demand?

Well done Paddy!
It may well be a dancing contest but it is also amateur entertainment show.
I find it arrogant to say that if John had gone earlier others would have stayed. Please help me understand whey one person leaving earlier than the public wanted would keep lots of others going?…..
Surely it just makes us 1 week behind?

John should have remembered that his dancing partner, Kristina, needed the publicity and exposure of the show to enhance her career. Sergeant had already made his name in the world. She was just getting started.
Depriving Kristina of ‘air time’ was indicative of how narrow minded John was to withdraw.
