It looks set to be a fantastic few days of festive racing. And here’s my own selection for the 26th and 27th. Yes, my previous form has been patchy. But as of 25th December I am turning over a new leaf! Here goes…
26th Dec - Durkan New Homes Juvenile Hurdle (Leopardstown)
Tharawaat – This lad is second favourite for the Triumph Hurdle for a reason. He won by 12L last time out and 23L the time before that, last time at Fairyhouse he also had some of his likely rivals behind him so he has nothing to fear.
26th Dec - King George (Kempton)
Imperial Commander (currently 6/1) – Kauto Star may deserve to be a short priced favourite but racing is all about the future. Imperial Commander won the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham and looks like the step up in trip should suit him just fine. His form has been well franked and he could turn into a proper Gold Cup prospect.
27th Dec - Paddy Power Chase (Leopardstown)
Callherwhatulike (currently 14/1) – Robert Tyner has won the race twice before and the horse will love the conditions. She ran this day last year in a Grade 1 race which shows just how much they think of her. She seems to have a nice weight and is available at fancy odds.
27th Dec - Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle (Leopardstown)
Cousin Vinny – An unoriginal tip but this horse is the real deal. He won both the Champion bumpers at Cheltenham and Punchestown last year which is a very rare double. Not only will he win this race but he’ll be one of the Irish bankers at Cheltenham come March.
27th Dec - Paddy Power Dial a bet Chase (Leopardstown)
Mansony – Going for a repeat victory in the race and his preparation has been pretty similar. He loves the conditions and the trainer, Arthur Moore, loves a Leopardstown winner…don’t we all!
27th Dec - Welsh National (Chepstow)
Abbeybraney (currently 10/1) – As usual this race is wide open. Abbeybraney had some really good form when trained in Ireland last year. He is with Howard Johnston now and looks really well handicapped and unexposed, he’s a nice price too.
Best of luck!

At the moment for me its a toss up between High Chimes and Kings Euro for the Welsh National and Emma Jane and Notable Destruval for the PP Handicap chase.Wont be making any concrete selections till the morning off the race but both races look like been dour staying chases so a light weight and proven stamina will be the key regardless of the price

YOUR RESULTS SHOULD SHOW WHERE THE HORSES FINISH . NOT JUST WIN OR LOSE
