We have two VIP tickets to the paddypower.com Cheltenham Trial Day at Naas this Sunday and we’re throwing in overnight accomodation in a four star hotel for Saturday night, hospitality at the races (free food and drink) as well as €100 for you to punt on the action.

The full prize includes:

- Overnight Stay and dinner in the Kilashee House Hotel
- Admission and Racecard
- Dinner in the Panoramic Restaurant at the Course
- Free €100 Bet
- Free Cheltenham Preview with Willie Mullins, Colm Murphy and Top NH Jockeys between races at the course

To be in with a chance to win this great, if somewhat last minute, prize all you have to do is answer the question below. The winner will be picked at random and the question is so easy that it really makes no difference who answers first. Only entries before 12pm (midday) Thursday will be considered.

What is the small guy who sits on the horse during a race most commonly called?

a) Jockey
b) Calvin Klein
c) Oompaloompa

Remember to use the email address you have registered with us otherwise we won’t know who you are.

    this little chap who sits atop the horse, intermittently shaking a stick.[ sometimes at the horse] other times at his mates in the stands, has many aliases, the most descriptive of which i will agree. is de jockey. however there are times when this term of endearment …..may be substituted by any number of less flattering adjectives, any one of which may be heard daily [usually by a disgruntelled punter] in any of paddy powers well appointed. and tastefully decorated emporiums….
    { as a means to an end…… i will crawl }

    these little gaily dressed men, who ride for a loving, are usually scottish. [ trad,, the jocks. ]
    but as horse racing became more prevelent and its popularity spread to pagan ireland.
    [ pre ... john mc cririck ] the jocks fell into the trap of not wearing any drawers while riding, beleiving that the bare back riding would give them an advantage over there irish cousins. but this ploy failed miserably, and susequentlly became known , as jocks trap. so not wishing to be associated with this scottish embarrassment , jonjo o neill ,[ the high king of cork at de time]. pronounced that henceforth all irish riders, male /female shall be known as , muckers, serfs, and dogsbodies, until and only until. they get a break then they may be called JOCKEY. AND GET TO WEAR TIGHT BREECHES SILK JACKETS AND THEIR HELMET ON THEIR HEAD.. AND CARRY A LEATHER WHIP.. oooohhh
