It’s through gritted teeth that we congratulate Cristoph for winning yesterday’s Cheltenham Katchphrase. We’ve not got anything against good aul Cristoph, it’s just that we thought it was a really difficult one, but he got it really easily. So for the final day, we’ve concoted a humdinger that - fingers crosseed - will perplex the finest minds to frequent the Paddy Power Blog.

I said that today we’d done our best to make it difficult and for the first time this week, we’ve gone the distance. The final piece of the puzzle is removed:

Cheltenham Katchphrase Day 3

We had believed that the first couple of days of Cheltenham Katchphrase would send people on a wild goose chase of Da Vinci Code proportions, but both competitions came to a disappointingly premature end.

Well no more! Today we’ve got a right tricky one that will require all your cunning.

Usual rules apply. One guess per person per square revealed, previous winners can’t enter because we ain’t allowing any Man Utd style dominance of all competitions and any other rules that we had in other days that I’ve forgotten at the moment.

In words that I’ve become all too used to throughout, we’ve finished prematurely C Cairns guessed right with Dark Horse

Win €/£100 in Free Bets

As with most things we set our frazzled minds to, yesterday’s Cheltenham Katchphrase game wasn’t as well thought out as it really should have been and was in very real danger of turning into somthing of a farce. To avoid such pitfalls today I’m enforcing a few rules. There’s only one guess per person per square revealed, we can’t have one person having a hundred guesses before any one else even makes one (not naming any names, dave) . You can only win once over the four days, so sorry joe but we have to give everyone else a chance. I think this is all pretty fair and other rules will be made up if necessary.

So on to today’s installment. It’s pretty simple really, I’ll start revealing a new square every half hour or so from 1pm and you just say what you see. The first person to get it right wins €/£100 in free bets but if we get to the end and no one has the right answer then, and only then, will it become a free for all and Dave can have as many guesses as he wants. Good luck guys.

We have a winner. Today Dave Jones’ quality over quantity approach has won him the free bets. Congratulations Dave. One Trick Pony it is, I think we’re going to have to start making these a bit tougher.

Cheltenham Katchphrase Day 1

Win £/€100 in Free Bets

There’s not really a whole lot to it. We show you a picture and you have to tell us what it’s supposed to represent. The exciting part is that we don’t show to you it all in one go. Oh, no. We’re dragging this bad boy out. So, in a manner completely unlike any tv show you think you might have seen before, we’ll reveal one square at a time while a little yellow robot and Roy…no wait that’s not us…we’ll just be revealing a new square every half an hour or so (it is Cheltenham today) until someone correctly guesses and wins themselves £/€100 in free bets. First person to guess correctly wins.

So just say what you see. Damn is that copyrighted? We’ll go check with legal and you try and win yourself some free bets.

Also to give everyone a chance at having a go it’s now limited to one guess per person per square shown. So you have to have a proper think about it.

We Have a winner!! Horse Play it is and the €100 goes to joekeenan. I’ll be back tomorrow with another, hopefully more difficult, Cheltenham Katchphrase.

Cheltenham Katchphrase

You may find similarities between the competition we’re running throughout the four days of Cheltenham and a certain other gameshow, but we’d like to point out that our version is legally different and has no association with it. Plus, we spell it Katchphrase.

Everyday at about 1pm, we’ll put up a graphic representation of well known phrase. If you’re confused already, here’s an example of what it will look like:

Katchphrase

Now obviously deciphering what is being represented in the image is going to be difficult, so every half an hour or so during the racing at Cheltenham, we’ll reveal another bit of the image until eventually it will look something like this:

Katchphrase

Now, combining your knowledge of West Coast rappers and clichés of the English language, you’d be able to tell us that this phrase is ‘A Game Of Two Halves‘.

From about 1pm on Tuesday, we’ll put up the Katchphrase of the day on our blog. Every half an hour or so we’ll remove a square and the first person to put the correct answer in the comments section wins €100/£100 in Free Bets.
It’s that simple.

Conditions
Open to paddypower.com account holders only.
Our decision is final.
Just in case someone is bizarrely brilliant at this game, once you’ve won, you’re automatically ineligible to win for the remainder of the week.
