This was the message fans received as they entered New York’s Webster Hall to watch the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s latest offering to the indie world.

Videoing a concert on a mobile phone is now common place with the technological advancements of the smart phones. The crowd is full of bright LED screens, often more illuminating than the stage itself.

They should change the line ‘throw your hands in the air if you just don’t care’, to ‘carefully raise your arms and hold them as still as possible like a tripod to ensure optimum viewing on Youtube. Ignore whatever song is played’.

Football fan videos are the latest social sensation. Lads and lasses at the game capturing decisive moments on their phone and uploading them to YoutTube to share on Facebook and Twitter.

Cue a few seconds of crowd mumbling about a certain player, before said player bangs in the free-kick and starts a good couple of minutes of ear-deafening noise and blurry footage of the sky/stadium roof.

Love them or hate them there are plenty knocking about. Here at the Paddy Power Blog we’ve picked out our favourites from this season, starting with arguably the most dramatic 30 seconds of football ever seen in a play-off semi-final.

Alen Pasagic is the man rising to viral-video fame with a hat-trick of cock-ups for NK Rudar Velenje. They are comedy errors, the likes of which are more commonly seen round the back of the Dog and Duck on a Sunday morning than in a country’s premier division.

It is safe to say this isn’t doing his chances of a summer transfer to the Premier League any favours but it is giving us a good giggle so everyone’s a winner. Well apart from Alen. He certainly isn’t winning.

It was his header in the dying minutes of the FA Cup Final that won the cup for Wigan in the biggest upset since Wimbledon’s win in 1988. 15/2 shots Wigan beat Manchester City 1-0 at Wembley to win the trophy for the first time in their history.

The game wasn’t the walk-over many people expected with Paddy Power punters backing 6-0, 7-0 and 8-0 wins for Manchester City. But the Citizens were down to ten men with 10 minutes to go as Pablo Zabaleta correctly saw red for a second yellow card as he brought down Callum McManaman.

McManaman tormented the City defence all evening and picked up the Man of the Match award, but it was Watson’s goal as the clock ticked past 90 minutes that separated the sides.

It might not save Wigan from relegation but the Latics can enjoy the party tonight and relive this thumping winner over and over again.

Still, there are some crackers in here to enjoy. If the betting on today’s game is anything to go by, one of the many goals Man City are expected to spank past Wigan should be a bit decent.

We’ve seen a lot of bets on City to win 8-0, 7-0 and 6-0 so far. It’s not just the City fans who fancy a one-way trouncing.

It is the FA Cup though and there is talk of it possessing magical qualities so let’s not count Wigan out just yet. Let’s at least wait until 5.30pm this evening.

McAllister’s free-kick gave Liverpool a dramatic 3-2 win at Goodison Park in April 2001 and helped them on their way to a Champions League place. They finished just one point ahead of Leeds United. Remember when Leeds were in the Premier League? The fact that this goal stands out in a season of dramatic wins for Liverpool, picking up the FA, League and UEFA cups in nail-biting manners, says a lot.

If it’s not the best Merseyside Derby goal it’s certainly one of the most dramatic. Who’ll be the hero in today’s game at Anfield?

So mental was this incident that both set of players instinctively formed a brawl formation but there was little direction to it.

One moronic Terek player (10 seconds in) tries to get a punch up started but the shock of a linesman going mental seems to have confused the rest of the players too much to really get going.

Kadyrov has been handed a lifetime ban by the Russian FA. Maybe he should have just bitten the player instead.

European football expert Graham Hunter (@bumpergraham) is predicting Real Madrid’s experience and composure will prove key in getting a positive result in tonight’s Champions League semi-final with Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

If it’s not to be a complete Bundesliga domination of this week’s Champions League semi finals then, ironically, Real Madrid might depend on a German to restore some La Liga pride.

Mesut Ozil has become a world class footballer under Jose Mourinho. He arrived in Spain as a young man of patent talent but the physical training at Madrid has not only completely altered his stamina (no longer is it a trademark that he’s subbed after 70 minutes) but given him significantly more top-body strength with which to hold off challenges and to buy himself space.

But, more than that, this game is a local derby against ‘the enemy’ for him. Born 35 minutes away from the Dortmund’s amazing Signal Iduna Park and originally a Schalke 04 youth talent, Ozil has always loved a tussle with the ScharzGelb (Black and Yellow).

How Ozil became the key man

Perhaps there’s something Pavlovian about the German midfielder’s response to facing Dortmund but having shone against them domestically for Schalke and Bremen, Özil was then probably the stand-out performer in the two Group D games between the sides earlier this season.

Away from home,  admittedly in defeat,  his was the clever lofted assist-pass which helped Cristiano Ronaldo score almost instantly after going behind to Robert Lewandowski’s opener.

In the return match it was the Real Madrid No 10 whose left-footed cross dropped perfectly for Pepe to head home the first equaliser and, again, it was Özil who squared the game in the last seconds thanks to a daring free kick which slid in at Roman Weidenfeller’s left hand post.

Again on the positive side for the reigning Spanish champions Ronaldo is on the most powerful, convincing and enjoyable form of his entire career. Beyond all the normal talent, power, height, free kicks, pace and heading ability there’s no missing the fact that since the Ballon D’Or went to Leo Messi in January the Portuguese has quietly got on with dominating Spanish football and putting himself in a position to rob Messi of the Champions League top scorer award for the first time in five seasons.

What’s more, he’s also a more complete team player than ever before. Previously there were uneven comparisons between Ronaldo and Messi in terms of goal assists but, again, CR7 has begun to close the gap and has been generous this season, in La Liga and the Champions League, in giving goals to Benzema, Higuain (who’ll start tonight) Ozil and Di Maria.

On that subject Mourinho will use Diego: Ramos, Pepe, Varane, Coentrao, Alonso, Khedira, Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo and Higuain tonight.

Pepe is the weak link

One man who’ll have to completely change his level of performance from the group games is Pepe. He gave away possession, allowed a shot to go right under his boot and was outjumped by Robert Lewandowski for three of the four goals in Group D which gave Jurgen Klopp’s team a win and a draw.

Important to Madrid in terms of height, power and pace Pepe is also a player who is notoriously capable of losing concentration and of losing his head. It will be a volatile atmosphere at Signal Iduna, Lewandowski says he’s fully fit and this is going to be a test for the Portugal international.

If he improves from his last two meetings with Dortmund and if Ozil and Ronaldo hit their marks then Madrid have the chance of taking a score draw back to Spain.

Dortmund merit respect for being quick, technical, smart, confident, well coached and terrifically well supported. However it’s possible that, tonight, experience and timing are slightly more in Madrid’s favour than a couple of months ago.

Malaga showed that Dortmund are vulnerable to the counter attack,  Mario Gotze’s transfer to Bayern being announced can’t help and, perhaps, the gap between the sides which was evident late last year has narrowed a little.

The German side took the lead against the Spanish giants in their Champions League semi-final first leg in the 25th minute at the Allianz Arena. Thomas Muller nodded them in front with his 18th goal in all competitions this season and it was exactly what Bayern deserved for a bright opening.

Mario Gomez had the simplest of jobs to knock in the second just after half-time as Barca proved how vulnerable they are in a game of ‘heads and volleys’. Arjen Robben, who was unrecognisable after spending 90 minutes passing and tackling, slotted a third past Victor Valdes as Jordi Alber was flattened off the ball.

The free-scoring Germans weren’t finished there and with less than ten minutes to play Muller slid in his second from close range to all but put Barca out of the Champions League.

Barcelona look out of sorts on a pitch that has been watered enough to slow down their passing game, but not watered enough to aid Sergio Busquets‘ diving. Lionel Messi has been largely anonymous but unfortunately the same can’t be said for Adrian Chiles who  still bumbled through some vague analysis before and after the match.

The thought of Chiles trying to prevent Roy Keane ripping Gareth Southgate’s tongue out while making some ‘hilarious pun’ about German efficiency is soul-crushing. That ITV panel is just a Mark Lawrenson away from causing serious depression amongst football fans.

Well how about a 35-yard dipping volley, three minutes from time to win the game. From a defender. Take a bow Matt Lowton.

With Stoke looking like they’d held Aston Villa to a 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium, Lowton took the ball out of the sky on his chest and unleashed a stunning long-range dipping volley that gave Asmir Begovic no chance.

The right-back’s incredible goal set Villa up for a late 3-1 win and moved them three points clear of the relegation zone with eight games to play. Paul Lambert’s team are nowhere near guaranteed Premier League football next season but Lowton’s strike has been a highlight in an otherwise depressing year for the Midlands club.

OK, so while I’ve been to the races and football matches (sooooo boring) I don’t pretend to know much about odds and betting.

But Paddy Power asked me to write a column on FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World Poll 2013.

Now, pretty girls in bikinis – this is an area of expertise. It seems I’m 10/1. You’ll see worse-looking long-shots this year, lads.

Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan is the 5/4 favourite to be crowned FHM’s World’s Sexiest Woman 2013. Most people will see at least two good reasons why she’ll do really well. She has a gorgeous body and isn’t afraid to flaunt it, and it’s easy to see why she’s favourite. She fits the FHM lads’ vote well.

For me, it is a three-honey race between Michelle, Mila Kunis (15/8) and Kate Upton (8/1) (2/1).

Michelle Keegan and Mila Kunis have more exposure in the UK, which will help them out, but there won’t be much else separating these three. I’ve a massive girlcrush on Mila Kunis, who starred in the movie Ted, and Nicole Scherzinger (5/1) was really in the limelight all year, especially on X Factor.

But Kate Upton has a far better chance. Kate is so popular at the moment she will be one of the main players. You’ve seen her Catdaddy video, right? It’s almost enough to turn a girl.

Kate is a Sports Illustrated swimwear model who is very famous in America and let’s be honest, she is incredibly hot. She has had plenty of attention in the UK and has a great chance of winning. Kate was ranked number three in AskMen’s Top 99 Women 2013 in the States and I think she can go even better in FHM’s competition.

She says she’s single too – which might be news to her sports star ‘boyfriend’ Justin Verlander. Or maybe they just don’t want us to know about it.

There were lots of people moaning about X Factor’s Tulisa on Twitter last year after she won, and plenty of people giving out about the result. Well, I think Tulisa is gorgeous but, how do I say this, maybe there were other girls who should have won it. I don’t know how she’ll do this year after all the negativity 12 months ago. The publicity from that sex tape probably gave her a bit of a push.

Laura Whitmore is an Irish girl in the running and she is 50/1. That’s a big price but will do quite well as she has got far more publicity in the last 12 months. She is absolutely gorgeous in the flesh.

As an outsider at 25/1, Cheryl Cole is always well supported (or so my male friends tell me) and won it in 2009 and in 2010 before coming second last year. I love Cheryl and she is amazing. She would definitely make it into my top 10. (Sadly, Paddy Power informs me you’re not doing each-way betting in FHM. At least that’s where the horse comparisons end).

The very curvy Kelly Brook won the award in 2005 but eight years on she is still going strong. She has done loads this year with Celebrity Juice and she has been piling in the shoots. I have seen more of her in the press this year than ever before so expect her to do well ( 20/1).

Alex Kiwomya’s dive for Chelsea’s NextGen side was so poorly executed Len Goodman would have choked on his cornflakes. It was a tremendously terrible belly-flop that would have been more at home on Splash than at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. The chances of Kiwomya winning a penalty are about the same as the chances of ITV recommissioning that Tom Daley love-in they refer to as ‘entertainment’.

It was such an appalling attempt at a dive the commentator called it straight away, not one player appealed, he was booed by his own fans, and even the referee saw it. Yes, it was that bad even the referee managed to see it.

Kiwomya got his comeuppance later on in the match when he received a second yellow card and headed for an early bath. Aston Villa won the game 2-0 and were thus crowned the best youth team in Europe. Paul Lambert’s men may be struggling in the Premier League but the future looks bright on this evidence.

World number four Agnieszka Radwanska has pulled off one of the best tennis shots we have seen in a while at the Sony Open in Miami.

In the quarter-finals she defeated Kirsten Flipkens 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 and this is easily the shot of the match, if not the shot of the entire tournament.

It has everything a great tennis shot should have. The shot Radwanska originally plays puts her in a great position to win the point and then it all changes. The deflection off the top of the net, the blind swivel, the perfectly delicate back-hand giving your opponent no chance. Of course there is an element of luck but there is also a significant chunk of skill and technique that has to be admired.

The look on Flipkens’ face and disgusted manner in which she throws her racket on the floor makes the clip even more enjoyable.

Agnieszka Radwanska faces Serena Williams tonight in the semi-finals and is the 9/2 outsider to upset the tournament favourite.

All eyes were on Tiger Woods but Sergio Garcia is still the coolest swinger in town.

On Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational he climbed 15 feet into an oak tree and played a one-handed shot back out to the fairway.

Garcia still double-bogeyed on the hole and withdrew during the rain delay. Still, hat-tip to the Spaniard for effort.

Leon Osman has practically polished up the Premier League title and handed it to Sir Alex Ferguson and co. with two months of the season still to go.

His thumping effort just after the half hour mark opened the scoring in Everton’s 2-0 win over Manchester City at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon. It leaves City 15 points off Manchester United who beat manager-less Reading 1-0 at Old Trafford later in the day.

Nikica Jelavic bagged the second in added time as City slipped to yet another defeat at Everton. That’s four head-to-head wins on the spin at Goodison Park for Everton and City have only won there twice in Premier League history.

The Premier League was practically over a few weeks ago and Paddy Power was so sure of it he even paid out on punters who had backed United to regain their crown.

Seamus Coleman will get plenty of plaudits for his performance as will stand-in keeper Jan Mucha, but it was this cracking goal that separated the two teams for the majority of the game.

It’s one of Paddy’s Justice Payouts as Salsify retained the Chase only after leader Oscar Delta hit a post at an intersection and unseated 18-year-old jockey Jane Mangan when closing in on the finish fine.

That crash left 2/1 favourite Salsify, under Colman Sweeney, clear to win. Divine Intavention (50/1) and Cottage Oak (9/1) completed the places.

On a very serious note, nobody likes to see a jockey fall and after four days of incredible racing at the Cheltenham Festival they should all be applauded for their efforts. They are a huge part of making racing the exciting sport it is and every time they ride they put themselves at risk of serious injury. This year’s Festival has featured some thrilling action and every jockey has played a massive part.
