A total of 14 arrests were made by the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) at last night’s Man City v Celtic Champions League tie, but it was one particular arrest that has caught our eyes this morning.

The dead rubber ended 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium and the GMP report that in general both sets of fans were well behaved, however one Celtic fan got himself in trouble for more than just horseplay.

He was detained after allegedly throwing a hamburger at a police horse in Piccadilly Gardens.

Yes, you did read that correctly!

The GMP informed the public of the news on Twitter last night and it’s fair to say they had some fun with it.

Don’t worry though the horse named Lancaster is fine, although we have no update on the condition of the hamburger as of this time.

The Celtic fan has since been released and given a £90 fixed penalty notice over the incident.
