Liverpool to win with both team’s scoring – 3/1

Despite a poor first couple of months in 2017, Swansea remain the only team to have raided Anfield of three points this season.

Liverpool’s struggles against bottom half teams may be well documented, but the fact remains they do seem to raise their game for the visits of top teams. Manchester City and Spurs have beaten at the home of the Reds this season, while Man United and leaders Chelsea have also failed to pick up maximum points there.

Arsenal for their part seem to have completely the opposite problem as they routinely fail to fire against the best sides. In their six outings against their fellow top six clubs this campaign The Gunners have one managed to pick up a pathetic total of five points from a possible 18.

We believe Arsenal’s struggles are far from over, but as our football ambassador Didi Hamann says “defensively neither team are solid to say the least”. So we’re going to punt on a home victory for Liverpool with both teams finding the back of the net at 3/1.

Alexis Sanchez to have an anytime assist – 4/1

Rumours that the dynamic Chilean is after a move away from The Emirates have dogged Arsenal for a few months now, but on the field Alexis Sanchez continues to produce at an astounding rate.

His stats for the 2016/17 make phenomenal and equalling reading for the Gunners faithful, as Sanchez has been directly involved 33 Arsenal goals (20 goals and 13 assists) so far this season.

So that means of the 88 times Arsenal have netted this campaign, they can track 37.5% directly back to the Chilean. They really should be going all out to keep him, shouldn’t they?

Football politics aside, with that record behind him we fancy Sanchez to be involved in some way in anything positive Arsenal do on Saturday and we’re backing him to lay one on a plate for a colleague at 4/1.

Philippe Coutinho to score first – 5/1

It what was a terrible night for Liverpool at champions Leicester on Monday night, Philippe Coutinho provided the only bright spark thanks to his consolation strike in the 68th minute.

The Brazilian is on course to have his best goalscoring season ever for the Reds, with six to his name in the Premier League already. That’s is only two behind his best ever total of eight.

He’s also netted a couple of times against The Gunners in his Liverpool career, first in 2014 and a brilliant free-kick earlier this season in that topsy-turvy 4-3 victory for Liverpool at the Emirates.

These are the type of games Coutinho tends to shine in and we’re tipping him up at 5/1 to land the opener on Saturday evening.

Over 3.5 goals in the game – 2/1

If there’s one thing you can almost guarantee in this fixture, it’s the ball hitting the ball of the onion sack.

Amazingly, a whopping 16 goals have been scored in this fixture in the last three games played on Merseyside. That’s an average of 5.3 goals per game over that period for you maths whizzes out there!

Unbelievably since January 1999 there’s only been one 0-0 draw in this fixture when these two meet, do you see where we’re going with this?

The over 3.5 goals wager has been beaten in five of their last six Premier League contest and we’re predicting another goal bonanza on Saturday to beat this 2/1 shot.
