That’s it for tonight,

What do you think of the new campers Timmy and DVD? Are we now starting to see Nicola’s true colours? What will Esther break down crying about next? And can outsider Kilroy turn it around and go on to win the show?

Have your say and I’ll be back at 9pm tomorrow night.

Any fat footballer joke

A wag at Cambridge Utd livened up the thrilling 1-0 victory against York City last night by suggesting that it was lucky that they were playing with a white ball. This was because a certain ‘podgy’ (compared to HorseHead and most of the people reading this he has the body of a Titan) player might have mistaken a yellow one for a cheeseburger and eaten it.

Sergeant Falls On His Sword

So let’s get this straight. It’s OK to invite a fat old man onto Strictly Come Dancing so that we can all laugh at him. But as soon as he starts winning the public over and is in with a chance of going all the way, he is somehow spoiling the integrity of the competition and making the whole thing ‘a joke’.

Munster Refund

Munster Refund

If sheer tenacity, bravery and spirit were worth points, Munster would have strolled to another famous victory over the All Blacks, but the awesome quality shone through in the end as Joe Rokocoko ended the dream at the death.

In acknowledgement of the tremendous Munster performance and to ease the pain of a heart-breaking defeat, we’re refunding just under €40,000 in losing match bets on the Red Army.

Is It Time To Get Strict With Sergeant?

It’s good to know that the Irish and the English can agree on one thing. We prefer a fat ‘entertainer’ to a committed professional.

That’s all that can explain the ongoing popularity of both Andy Reid and John Sergeant. The big man may be providing chuckles to the nation as he drags the lovely Kristina around the floor, but surely he cannot be allowed to turn the noble and ancient art of ballroom dancing into a laughing stock?

Win Ireland v Argentina Tickets

Posted by Chris at 5:04pm November 18th, 2008

Category: Sportsbook, Competitions 33 Comments

Feeling a little let down after Ireland’s meagre performance against New Zealand? Don’t despair; we’ve got two pairs of tickets to see Ireland beat Argentina at Croke Park this weekend. That might sound like the same blind optimism and deluded confidence that led most to believe Ireland could beat the All Blacks, but Declan Kidney’s men should quite easily beat the Argies. Just ignore the irrelevant record of played 10, won 5 and lost 5.

To celebrate the fact we’ve started to sound like jumper hating Geordies, we’re giving you the chance to enjoy Saturday’s top quality International.

To be in with a chance of winning simply send your username and the answer to the following question to competitions@paddypower.com

What is the nickname of the Argentinean rugby team?

(a) The Pussycat Dolls

(b) The Garfields

(c) The Pumas

(d) Top Cats

(e) (c)

Competition closes at 12pm on Thursday 20th November. Winners will be drawn at random. Winners will be notified by Friday morning at the latest, hopefully.

Well that’s it for tonight,

I’ll be back tomorrow night at 9pm for another live jungle blog.

As always let me know what you make of the series so far. Who’s the hottest of the ladies? Who do you want to see the back of first or who would you throw into the mix if you could pick a celebrity!

As pointed out below, I’m off now to do some research on that Keeley photo/non photo!

Ireland Betting

Retired Old Story

A run of the mill Finnish international.
A useful player who got called into the French squad once several years ago, but didn’t get capped.
And there’s no other way of describing Dean Whitehead other than he’s Dean Whitehead.

These are just some of the players that are ahead of Andy Reid in the midfield packing order at the Stadium of Light. Tainio, Malbranque and Whitehead were deemed good enough by Roy Keane to start for Sunderland at the weekend whilst Andy Reid had to make do with a place on the bench. He did play eventually a part in the game, but if he’s not good enough to hold down a regular place in the Black Cats’ first XI, then why is there such a clamour for him to be in the Ireland team?

Our man on the inside - Horsehead - keeps you updated with all the latest news and gossip from Cheltenham on the final day of the Paddy Power Gold Cup meeting. Check back with us through the day.

1708 Well, that’s it then. The great Paddy Power meeting is over for another year. What’s been your highlight? For me, as I couldn’t back my car out of a garage, it had to be Tatenen today. He just looks special. It’s getting back on horses like him that will help speed Ruby’s recovery. Thanks for being with us over the three days. It’s been emotional, as they say.
