To be honest we’re struggling with the wait for the Royal Rumble more than Roman Reigns does putting a sentence together.

Still, at least we have Raw and Smackdown Live to tide us over this week, with the pay-per-view well over a week away on January 29.

Last night’s Raw took place in the wondrous surroundings of the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas and it was fair to say the show had its moments. Let’s grapple with the best of the action…

The Beast unleashes his fury

Everyone wondered what Brock Lesnar we’d see after his shocking one minute and 26 second beating by Goldberg at Survivor Series. Last night we got our answer, he was pissed!

Roman Reigns opened Raw trying to explain himself to Paul Heyman after losing the US title to Chris Jericho last week, that of course brought out The Big Dog’s opponent at the Royal Rumble the WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens and the newly crowned Y2J to gloriously gloat.

This lead to the back emptying and Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman joining the party, that’s was the Beast’s cue to create havoc.

Reigns and Zayn were quickly taken to Suplex City before Strowman and Lesnar teased a monster showdown. Reigns than landed a Superman punch to Brock, but a distraction lead to Lesnar gaining revenge and hitting a devastating F-5.

Goldberg beware, the Beast is back in the hunt…

Kurt finally finds the right ‘Angle’

In his own words Kurt Angle said it best on Twitter last night, “I’m coming home!”

The Olympic Hero probably spent the best years of his career outside of the WWE in TNA, but there can be no doubt he deserves his spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Angle’s announcement broke on ESPN yesterday and fans at the arena on Raw gave his video package a standing ovation last night.

The only question that remains is, will we get to chant “you suck, you suck” to Kurt music for one final match?

Owens announces his intention to put down The Big Dog

Raw’s main event was a six-man tag with Reigns, Rollins and Zayn facing off against Owens, Jericho and Strowman.

Braun would pick up the win on Zayn because of his, well, brawn and that sparked a riot on the entrance ramp.

Poor Y2J would suffer a Pedigree on the steel, but it was Owens who’d have the last laugh on Raw. KO destroyed both former Shield brothers with a chair and would end the show by Powerbombing Reigns through the announce table.

We hope you enjoyed that roll-up wrestling nerds, we’ll be back tomorrow with the Smackdown Live Review to whet your appetite for all the events inside the squared-circle even more.
