It’s not Hard-y to guess the new favourite to be the next James Bond, after we slashed Tom Hardy’s odds 6/4.

The British actor has long been considered a dark horse for the role, and has recently confirmed his interest in playing the part.

The public have backed him by, erm, backing him with the bookie – a steady stream of bets prompting his price to tumble.

He has leapt ahead of James Norton (9/4) and Aidan Turner (10/3) in the race to play 007, with incumbent Daniel Craig still yet to sign a new deal.

While a host of former frontrunners, such as Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender, have publicly ruled themselves out of the running.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Despite usually playing roles that are maniacal or mumbling, Tom surely he won’t be able to say Dr No to this role.

“If the latest reports are right, Hardy could prove to be the Baine of my life – my only hope is that producers thing he’s a tad too Kray for Bond.”
